As a new mom it can be difficult to get out of the house and leave your little one in order to get your workout in, and let’s face it, not all of us a disciplined enough to do it at home! While I was on maternity leave I hunted for classes where I could bring my kids along, get a good sweat in and socialize with other moms! Doing research with little ones at home can be nearly impossible, so I am sharing the resources I found. In addition to providing this resource to you, I want to support some really great local businesses and business women!

Fit4Mom- Brookfield /Tosa
In addition to offering a variety of pre and postnatal classes, they offer a Stroller Strides class and a Stroller Barre class that you can do with your little ones.
I checked out the Stroller Barre class near the end of my maternity leave this Spring. The group of moms who attend this class are incredible! They were really friendly and welcoming. There were children of all ages from infants like mine, to older kids who could somewhat entertain themselves during the workout. The workout itself was tough! I got a great sweat in and was sore, in a good way, for a day or two afterwards! I highly recommend checking out classes with Fit4Mom, and BONUS: The first class is free!
Fitness Advantage Trainer with Jaime Wooten
Although I haven’t attended any of the current class offerings, I took Jaime’s classes when they were offered at Destination Maternity (classes no longer offered here). She is extremely knowledgeable about pre and post-natal fitness, incredibly motivating and I always got a great workout!
During the Summer Jaime does a Mom’s HIIT Bootcamp (with or without your kids), Family Yoga classes and a Zoo Pump class! Zoo pump is next on my list to try!
Once a month Tosa Yoga hosts a Parent and Baby Yoga class, as well as a Family Yoga Class more suited for families with children ages 4-8.
I have not attended classes here yet, but heard about baby yoga from another mom at Baby Connection in Brookfield. I remember her saying that she had never felt so connected to her baby. The class is on the longer side (1.5 hours) so you can care for your baby (feeding, diaper changing etc) during class!

Mom & Baby Yoga classes are held on Tuesday’s from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Prenatal and postnatal yoga classes are also offered.
